VocalEyes Audio Described Guided Touch Tour (21 July)

The tour will begin with Trigger’s Teabreak, a transportive audio piece and live dance work which takes the audience through the history and rituals of tea with chai and peppermit tea served from the beautifully hand-painted tuk-tuk.
The tour also gives live verbal commentary describing the visual elements of Rebecca Louise Law’s breathtaking installation The Place Between, a giant hanging garden inside the iconic MK shopping centre, centre:mk. Created from over 200,000 dried flowers and plants, visitors will be invited to walk through the giant hanging garden and experience the immersive soundscapes revealing the secret life of plants by digital sound artist Jason Singh.
Tour Guide and Audio Describer: Tony Mc Bride
Tony has been working as a freelance Audio Describer for over 25 years, being one of the original team of VocalEyes describers. He is also a member of the National Theatre’s access team, for which he has provided AD for over 15 years. Between the two organisations, Tony is fast approaching his 700-show anniversary! As well as describing conventional theatre, Tony has experience of describing outdoor festival performances, architecture and exhibitions, including numerous Liberty Festivals; Open House tours and the Imperial War Museum. Tony also works as a trainer, introducing teams to the basic concepts involved in delivering a gold standard AD experience. As well his AD work, Tony also works as a Theatre Practitioner, both as a director and facilitator. He is a long-standing board member of Festival.Org and Associate Artist with Cardboard Citizens, with whom he held the post of Associate Director for many years.
