Milton Keynes–based company Pagrav Dance present the complexities of British Asian identity through a playful approach to classicism, connecting dance and the everyday.
Challenging myths and expectations, Pagrav reframe movement with sound and text to reveal insights and surprises at every turn.
Commissioned by stomping ground; fabric (Dancexchange and Dance 4), The Place London, Festival.Org and Tramway, presented by Pagrav Dance Company and supported through public funding by Arts Council England.
About Pagrav Dance
Pagrav means ‘the sound of feet’. Through the Indian classical dance form of Kathak – which expresses stories through movement, especially footwork and facial gesture – the company celebrates an ancient tradition and its potential to empower people and enhance lives.
